Fayette County was the setting Tuesday morning for the production of a training tape on administering the flu vaccines that will be part of the curriculum for paramedics and emergency medical technicians statewide.

The vaccination training program was produced by the Georgia Office of Emergency Management Services, Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services and Georgia Division of Public Health (DPH).

“The purpose of the video is to train EMS providers statewide in the vaccination procedure and product that will be administered for the H1N1 and seasonal flu,” said DPH District 4 Risk Communicator Hayla Hall.

Hall said the training film will be loaded onto the state’s Accordant training site where 15,000-plus EMTs and paramedics will be able to view the training, take a written exam and provide a skills verification in front of a person currently licensed to administer vaccinations in Georgia.
