Prince of Peace offers family fun this Friday
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will present Fall Family Night & Flick on the Bricks this Friday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the church. The movie, “Night at the Museum” staring Ben Stiller, starts at sunset. All children, youth and families are invited. Kids and youth are encouraged to wear costumes (nothing too scary please). Snacks and drinks will be provided. Those attending should bring lawn chairs, blankets and jackets. Rain backup will be in the Life Center with more fun for kids. Prince of Peace is on Ga. Highway 314 between Lowe’s and The Pavilion.

White Oak plans barbecue this weekend
The 26th Annual Fall Barbecue at White Oak Presbyterian Church in Coweta County will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Barbecue plates, quarts of Brunswick stew, and pounds of barbecue will be $8 each. Proceeds support White Oak’s foreign and local missionaries and missions. White Oak is at 2796 Gordon Rd., near the intersection of Ga. Highway 54.

Edgefield celebrates 139-plus years
Edgefield Baptist Church will continue its celebration of 139-plus years Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Downing, and will end festivities Sunday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Simmons. Edgefield Baptist Church is at 140 Church St. in Fayetteville. Senior pastor is Eddie Thomas. Flat Creek plans barbecue Oct. 24
The men’s ministry at Flat Creek Baptist Church will have a barbecue Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11:30 a.m. until the supply is exhausted. Everything will be in “to go” containers. Barbecue will be prepared by church member Richard Perry, known near and far for his barbecue. Flat Creek is on Flat Creek Trail between Ga.Highway 54 and Tyrone Road.

PCF will have yard sale Oct. 24
Peachtree Christian Fellowship on Ebenezer Church Road will have a “huge” yard sale Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Residents may purchase a space for $25 and sell their yard sale items also. PCF also is accepting donated items and needs volunteers to help. Tax deductible forms will be available. Proceeds will go toward updating the church nursery. ‘Authority in Prayer’ workshop planned
A one-day workshop on “Authority in Prayer” will be taught by Dr. Judy Massey Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. The workshop is sponsored by the Mid-South Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and is open to the community. The $15 registration fee includes materials and lunch. John Waller featured in concert
First Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City, will present John Waller, singer, songwriter, and worship leader, in concert Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 or $8 with student ID. Childcare will be provided for children ages 4 and younger. The church is at 206 Willowbend Rd., Peachtree City.

Murray Tilles to speak at Sandy Creek
Murray Tilles, executive director of Light of Messiah Ministries in Atlanta, will explain the history of the conflict in the Middle East and how it ties into Biblical prophecy when he speaks at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. Sandy Creek is at 1082 Sandy Creek Rd.

Coupon workshop planned
Saving Sensibly, a coupon and money saving workshop, will be offered at National Heights Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2:30 p.m. The event is free but donations for materials will be accepted. RSVP to maguire73@att.net by Friday, Oct. 24 with number of children and adults attending as well as the children’s ages. National Heights is at the intersection of Sandy Creek Road and Old Norton Road.
