Those itching to cast their vote for the Nov. 3 SPLOST and city elections will be able to do so in downtown Fayetteville starting Wednesday morning.

Fayette County’s election office, located at the county’s Stonewall government complex, will be set up at 8 a.m. for the advance voting period. Voters will be able to cast ballots for their city election and also for the proposed Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

The week of Oct. 26, early voting will occur at the libraries in Peachtree City and Tyrone for voters there as well; Fayetteville voters and those in the unincorporated county voting on the SPLOST will continue to go to the elections office in Fayetteville. Those sites will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be no voting service offered Monday, Nov. 2, and those waiting until the traditional election day Tuesday, Nov. 3 will have to go to their usual polling place, election officials said.

At www.fayettecountyga.gov/elections, there is a link on the left side to help voters find their polling location. That link, which goes to the Georgia secretary of state website, also allows absentee voters to check on the status of their application and ballot, including whether they have been received by the county.

Those who requested a municipal absentee ballot via mail also will receive an absentee ballot for the SPLOST, but the SPLOST ballot will come in a separate mailing, officials said.
