Chatt Hills inn scores internationallyThu, 10/08/2009 - 3:54pm

Cookie, a national monthly lifestyle magazine for the modern mother published by Conde Nast, has included the Inn at Serenbe in its “3rd Annual Best of Travel” feature in the October 2009 edition. The feature heralds “eight dreamy escapes”: The Inn at Serenbe, The St. Regis in Bora Bora, Ardoor Art Camp in The Netherlands, The Greenbrier in West Virginia, Planet Baobab in Botswana, Mohonk Mountain House in New York, Natura Cabana in Dominican Republic, and The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Features editor Miranda Crowell dubs Serenbe the “best southern comfort” and says. “Anyplace where a child can bottle-feed a baby goat, jump in a pool, and rule over a tree house in the woods deserves five stars in a kid’s eyes,” the magazine’s assessment noted. “But what’s surprising about this B&B — which is nestled in 700 acres of farmland and woods in the eco-minded planned community of Serenbe — is how thoroughly it gets everything right from the adult perspective, too. The guesthouse rooms and barn-wood cottages are environmentally friendly, beautifully decorated in antiques, and massive (especially for the price). The chef cooks up classic southern fare (warm corn pudding) with farm-fresh ingredients. And in addition to offering a regular schedule of hay rides and scavenger hunts, the inn encourages everyone to take up (fun) farm chores, like feeding goats and picking blueberries. The Inn at Serenbe is located in the city of Chattahoochee Hill Country, on Coweta’s northern border. A restored 1905 farmhouse, restored 1930’s horse barn, rustic guest cottage, two 2-bedroom EarthCraft certified “green” modern cottages, and a four-bedroom lake house offer 20 unique guestrooms. Guests may enjoy hay rides, bonfires, canoeing, fly fishing, feeding animals, hikes through miles of trails by naturally occurring small waterfalls, and more, in addition to gourmet southern dining in the critically acclaimed The Farmhouse restaurant. login to post comments |
