Japan and habitat

Three new employees of TSG-USA, Inc., Peachtree City, recently spent two afternoons volunteering at the Newnan Coweta Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Kohei Fukuda, a mechanical design engineer; Kazuha Shoji, a software programmer; and Makoto Yamada, a design engineer, will work at TSG-USA’s facility in Japan, but came to the United States for two weeks of employee orientation.  In addition to work-related classes, the group received information about American culture, including volunteering.  “It speaks volumes about a company that brings employees in from abroad to train and yet recognizes the importance of volunteering and making a difference in ones community,” said Sharon Hazel, Habitat ReStore Manager.

TSG-USA was founded over 30 years ago to provide industry leading engineering services to the automotive industry.  Since then, TSG has expanded their services and the industries they support.  TSG-USA, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of TSG Corporation.  Established in 2001, TSG-USA provides direct support to U.S. based subsidiaries of Japanese customers and works to develop the U.S. market.

“I am glad they had the opportunity to work directly with some of our Family Partners (future Habitat Homeowners) that the Newnan Habitat ReStore is trying to raise the funds to build a simple, decent and affordable home for,” Hazel added.

The Newnan Habitat ReStore’s mission is to help raise the monies needed to purchase building materials and services to construct Habitat homes in Coweta County.  To learn more about Habitat visit its website at www.nchfh.org or shop or volunteer at the ReStore, located at 150 Pine Rd – 770/252-4061.
