Greek appetizer tasting is tomorrow night
Residents of Fayette and Coweta Counties who enjoy the tantalizing taste of Greek appetizers and baklava are welcome to attend the “Greek Appetizers/Baklava Tasting” at Saint Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church, 313 Dividend Drive, Suite 210, Peachtree City, tomorrow evening, Oct. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Order forms for ordering the appetizers for the holidays will be provided. Corinth yard sale set for Friday, Saturday
Corinth Baptist Church will have a yard sale this Friday and Saturday, Oct.9 and 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, in the fellowship hall.Barbecue pork plates will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m Saturday. Cancer walk planned at Edgefield
Edgefield Baptist Church in Fayetteville will sponsor the Ninth Annual Shirley Thomas Cancer Awareness Walk this Saturday, Oct. 10, starting at the George Porter Fellowship Hall at 9 a.m. Warm-ups start at 8:30 a.m. A rally will be held after the walk. Church of Nativity will host bazaar
The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will host its Annual Bazaar, Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The events will feature hand-made crafts, a large book sale and gently used household goods. Lunch will also be served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., offering grilled hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and water. Church of the Nativity is at 130 Antioch Rd., Fayetteville. Three J Cafe plans Harvest Jamboree
Three J Cafe will have a Harvest Jamboree Saturday Oct. 10 from 2-5 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church. The event will feature live music, games, clowns, face painting, door prizes, children’s comedy show and inflatable attractions for kids. Barbecue pork and hot dog plates will be available. Free hot dog plate and candy for kids 12 and under will be available while they last (parents must accompany children and register to receive meal ticket). Free lunch for Fayette law enforcement
Edgefield Baptist Church will offer free lunches to Fayette County law enforcement officers Sunday, Oct. 11, at noon, in appreciation for the services they provide. Personnel may dine in the George Porter Fellowship Hall at the church or pick up a lunch to carry out. Edgefield is at 140 Church St. in downtown Fayetteville. The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville is seeking vendors for its Annual Craft Fair planned for Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8 in the Parish Hall. Prison ministry workshop planned
The Southern Crescent Church of Christ in Tyrone will host a Prison Ministry Workshop Friday and Saturday, Oct. 16 and 17, to introduce material that produces life changes in detainees with the goal of enabling them to remain free after release. ‘Authority in Prayer’ workshop scheduled
A one-day workshop on “Authority in Prayer” will be taught by Dr. Judy Massey Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. The workshop is sponsored by the Mid-South Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and is open to the community. The $15 registration fee includes materials and lunch.
