The Georgia Cancer Coalition is proud to announce that Georgians again have a unique opportunity to contribute to the fight against cancer – through the filing of your state income tax return.

By increasing the amount of tax that you owe by as little as $1, or decreasing your refund by as little as $1, you can contribute to the Georgia Cancer Research Fund on the appropriate line of your state tax return. This fund is managed by the Coalition and supports life-saving research into the causes, treatments, and cures of breast, prostate, and ovarian cancers.

Donors to the income tax check-off program are funding innovative research, and their contribution is always matched dollar-for-dollar by local philanthropic and community resources, stretching contributions even further. Breakthroughs in cancer research that come from our university laboratories in the state will show up in the clinic as revolutionary new diagnostics or treatments. Georgians will receive the first benefits of these developments.

Generous Georgians who volunteer to support the Georgia Cancer Research Fund through their tax return are truly making a difference. Since the inception of this program in 2003, more than $1,000,000 has been granted to Georgia researchers seeking to solve the mysteries of cancer and to save lives in Georgia.

Every dollar that you contribute through the Georgia Cancer Research Fund goes directly to researchers in the state. Join the hundreds of thousands of Georgians who have already contributed and “check the box” today.
