The Atlanta Business Chronicle announced the winners of its ‘Best Places to Work in Atlanta’ survey, and Bank of North Georgia's employees voted their employer as one of Atlanta's 2009 Best Places to Work, coming in at No. 3 in the large employer category. Bank of North Georgia, a member of the Synovus family of banks, is the only bank listed in the top 10. This ranking, based on surveys and comments submitted by team members, represents the fifth time in seven years Bank of North Georgia has earned a place in the top 10 for ‘Atlanta’s Best Places to Work’ among large companies in Atlanta. The bank came in at No. 3 in 2008 as well.

According to Kessel Stelling, President and CEO of Bank of North Georgia, the honor really goes to the team members who make BNG such a fine place to work. "Our team members are the #1 reason that we were honored with this award," Stelling said. "This is an exciting and proud achievement for Bank of North Georgia, and we will continue to enhance our programs and seek employee feedback on what we can do to retain and attract the best talent in Atlanta."

The announcement was made in front of 500 attendees at the ‘2009 Best Places to Work’ breakfast held at the Georgia Aquarium and in the September 25 print edition of the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The article included an interview with Kessel Stelling and testimonials from team members on what makes Bank of North Georgia a great place to work.

As one BNG employee plainly stated in a survey taken as part of the Best Places to Work program, “the fact that I am nominating a bank as the best place to work in Atlanta during the worst banking environment in the last 80 years speaks volumes as to the leadership, culture, and opportunities we have at Bank of North Georgia.”
