PTC Council to hear of rec sports mergerTue, 09/29/2009 - 3:17pm
By: John Munford
The Peachtree City Council has an extremely light agenda for its meeting Thursday night. But one of the agenda items, though it will not require a council decision, has an impact on recreational soccer in the city. Council is slated to get an informational update on the merger of the private Lazers and Lightning recreational programs. The city has no direct governance over either organization, but it maintains agreements with all sports associations that use city facilities. The Lazer and Lightning programs are two of a handful in Peachtree City youth sports that employ paid coaches. Council is also expected to reclassify its human resources manager as a human resources administrator, adding more duties to the job description. Also up for a vote is a request from Amphitheater Director Nancy Price who wants the city to terminate its agreement with Ticketmaster. According to a city memo, Price wants to have another ticket agency provide services for the amphitheater. login to post comments |
