Betty Jean Sheffield, 75, Haralson, formerly of Fayetteville, died Sept. 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie "Bill" and Mamie Weathersby of Leesburg, Ga. Her most treasured possession was her family and other than home, her favorite place was the mountains. A celebration of life was at Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Lavon Womack officiating.

Survivors include her husband, of 60 years, Windell "Bud" Sheffield, Haralson; daughters, Deborah Sturdivant, Hampton, and Linda Roberts, Haralson; brother, Walter Weathersby, Leesburg, and Richard Weathersby, Albany; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lung Cancer. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
