Hopewell to host Pumpkin Patch Festival October 10Tue, 09/29/2009 - 1:06pm

Tyrone’s Hopewell UMC invites the commiunity to enjoy the fruits of the harvest at its annual Pumpkin Patch Festival. The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the church, 351 Jenkins Rd., across from Sandy Creek High School. There will be tons of Pumpkins to buy and many activities throughout the day. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a Country Store, with baked goods and hand-made items, hay wagon rides for all ages and a jumping room for the children. Families can also participate in sack races, three legged races, pumpkin seed spitting contests, face painting, family photos and more. Check the on-site schedule for times for the various events. All events are free of charge. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. barbeque sandwich/chips/and a drink will be available for purchase for $2.50. There will also be a community blood drive during the festival.
