Civic association sponsoring PTC candidate forumFri, 09/25/2009 - 1:57pm
By: John Munford
The Peachtree City Civic Association will hold a forum for all city council and mayor candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. The event, which is open to the public, will be hosted at the auditorium at McIntosh High School. The association is accepting questions from the public via email to forum@ptcca.org. The candidates will be given a list of topics that will be covered 24 hours before the forum, but not the specific questions themselves, organizers said. Each candidate’s response will have a time limit and all candidates will be given an opportunity to speak. The association, which formed several years ago to become more involved in city government decisions, held a similar candidate forum in 2007. This year is a bit different as one of PTCCA’s leaders, Beth Pullias, is running for the Post 1 council seat against a crowded field of four other persons. That seat comes with just a two-year term, not four, as it is the unexpired term of Don Haddix, who was elected in 2007 but had to resign weeks ago when he officially declared to run for mayor. login to post comments |
