Trail ride

The Calvin Center will host its first benefit trail ride on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a rain date of October 3rd, at their facilities located at 13550 Woolsey Road in Hampton. .

Equestrians are invited to bring their horse and ride a guided trail through the 548 acres of Calvin Center property. The gate opens at 9 a.m. and the ride is from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. with a meal served at 4 p.m. During the ride, riders can search for golden horseshoes along the trail. Riders who find the horseshoes will receive prizes.

On site vendors will sell snacks and beverages before and during the ride. Guests can also bid on silent auction items and tour the equestrian center. An event photographer will be on site.

The cost of the event is $20 which includes dinner. Non riders can purchase dinner for $10. Registration, rules and more information are available on line at www.calvincenter.org. Pre- registration is requested, although walk ins will be accepted. All horses must have proof of current negative coggins test and strangles vaccine.

The Calvin Center is the camp, conference and retreat center of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, Presbyterian Church USA. Calvin Center’ Equestrian Program offers therapeutic riding programs for youth and adults with developmental and physical disabilities and is a NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) Member Center. Calvin Center also offers recreation riding lessons and group trial rides. Proceeds from the benefit ride will benefit the therapeutic riding scholarship fund.
