A new veterans memorial will be dedicated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Peachtree City’s Falcon Field Airport.

The memorial’s centerpiece is a full-size F-16 Fighting Falcon jet mounted for display as part of a new park area at Falcon Field. The park includes engraved brick pavers to not only honor military veterans but also the families who make countless sacrifices while their loved ones are on duty serving our country.

The Veterans Memorial Park at Falcon Field has received a host of in-kind and cash donations as local companies and residents stepped to the plate to make the project possible, organizers said.

The aircraft is outfitted with dummy bombs and missiles to give it an authentic wartime look.

The aircraft, which was donated by the military to Falcon Field more than 10 years ago for just such a display, is being painted by Clayton International, a Peachtree City company that retrofits and repairs aircraft. Even the paint was donated by Duron.

Other companies performed free labor and donated materials on the creation and construction end, ranging from landscaper David Hollingsworth, Brent Scarbrough and Company and airport consulting engineers PBS&J. The steel mounting for the jet was donated by C.J. Faulk in Montgomery, Ala.
