Mr. and Mrs. Terry Wright Smith of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Allison Payne Smith, to Erik Matthew Okonczak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leonard Okonczak of Destin, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Ted Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Slater McRae Doggett, both of Butler, Ala., and the late Dorothy Freeman Doggett. She is a graduate of Atlee High School in Mechanicsville, Va. and Georgia Southern University, where she graduated with a B.S. degree in fashion merchandising with a minor in marketing. She was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas James of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., the late Carol Scott James and Mrs. Shirley Tinley Okonczak of Clanton, Ala., and the late Alfred Anthony Okonczak. He is a graduate of Ft. Walton Beach High School in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. He is a member of the United States Coast Guard and is currently stationed in St. Petersburg, Fla.

A fall wedding is planned for November, 2009, in Destin, Fla.
