Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will host the Second Annual Lynn Wheeler Benefit Golf Tournament at Durham Lakes Golf and Country Club in Fairburn Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Wheeler was diagnosed with cancer in February 2005. She went into remission in September of that same year, only to suffer a serious spinal injury in an auto accident on Christmas Day, 2005, an accident that has left her confined to a wheelchair and breathing with the help of a respirator. Wheeler and her husband have remained strong members of Covenant Presbyterian, and she continues to serve in the church’s children’s ministry.

This year’s fund-raiser will tee off at 1 p.m. at Durham Lakes. Single players are $85, four-member teams are $340. Donations are also accepted. For more information on the tournament, contact Joseph Starr, 678-637-2731.
