Teresa Ann Elliott
Teresa Ann Elliott, 49, Fayetteville, died Aug. 22, 2009. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard A. Elliott. She had worked for several years with Atlanta marketing groups as a model. She appeared in advertisements promoting professional sports team clients. She later flew for Atlantic Southeast Airlines as a flight attendant. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her mother, Betty Jo Elliott, Fayetteville; a brother, Thomas Howard and Maureen Elliott Sr., Fayetteville; nephews, Thomas Howard and Robin Elliott Jr., USCG Bradley Neal and Nohea Lloyd; nieces, Lisa Ann Elliott, Alyssa and David Thomas, and Jessica L. Lloyd; three great-nephews; one great-niece; two aunts; and four cousins. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.

Elouise Kearns Garner
Elouise Kearns Garner, 79, Brooks, died Sept. 7, 2009. She was a school bus monitor for Fayette County. Services were at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Brooks Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Dennis and Carmen Garner, Acworth; a daughter, Becky Wilson, Brooks; grandchildren, Benn Wilson, Macon, and Brett Wilson, Atlanta; a brother, Brantley Kearns, Burbank, Calif.; and special friend, Yolanda Bachoo. Madeleine H. Pistone
Madeleine H. Pistone, 89, Peachtree City, died Sept. 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Pistone. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Pioneers in Peachtree City, and an active member of The New Neighbors. Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include son, Joseph and Linda Pistone, New York, and John and Joan Pistone, Georgia; a daughter, Mary and Eric Prine, Georgia; a sister, Yvonne Gouy, France; grandchildren; and close family member, Faye Prine. Sara Mae Johnson
Sara Mae Johnson, Peachtree City, died Sept. 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Johnson and brother, Joe Stewart Clarke. She and her husband were original Waffle House Franchise owners near the Atlanta Airport. She had over 40 years of service in the banking industry and was retired from Wachovia Bank. Services were at First Baptist Church, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Steve Bingham, the Rev. Kenneth Brown, and the Rev. Brent Johnson officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include her children, Debbie and Lynn Routon, Peachtree City, Allen and Linda Johnson, Mesquite, Texas, and Roger Johnson, Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Callie Routon and Tyler Routon, Peachtree City and five grandchildren in Texas; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, David M. and Lavina Clarke Jr., South Carolina. Herman J. Miller Jr.
Col. Herman J. Miller Jr., United States Army, retired. 80, Fayetteville, died Sept. 9, 2009. He was born Nov. 1, 1928 in Calhoun, Ga., son of the late Herman and Janie Miller. He was preceded in death by a son, James Miller. He was graduated from North Georgia College as a second lieutenant and briefly taught school. He then began a 31 year career as an Army officer. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Upon retirement in 1979 he was a consultant with a Washington, D.C. company and returned to Georgia as a tax agent with the IRS and the Georgia Department of Revenue. He was appointed assistant director of the Georgia Motor Vehicle Division in 1985 and served until retirement in 1993. He was a commander of the American Legion Post 105, a member of the Lions Club, was a Mason, a Shriner, and an active member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church and the Fellowship-Discipleship Sunday School Class. Services were at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church chapel with the Rev. Mark Westmoreland officiating. Graveside services for the family were in Calhoun, Ga. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Thomasina Smith Miller, Fayetteville; a son, Charles Miller, Fayetteville; daughters, Susan and Doug Adams, Sudbury, Mass., and Kathleen and Bill Orr, St. Charles, Ill; two grandsons; five granddaughters; one great-grandson; a sister, Juanita Fox, Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Pope, Dalton; five nephews; and three nieces. Belinda Gail Strickland Turner
Belinda Gail Strickland Turner, 53, Fayetteville, formerly of Newnan, died Sept. 12, 2009 after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Hardwick D. Strickland. Memorial services are today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Wood and the Rev. Gilbert Fields officiating. Survivors include her mother, Ethel L. Strickland, Fayetteville brothers, Walter and Janet Kitchens, Gainesville, Ga., and Jeff and Laurie Strickland, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Tina and Tony Plunkett, Jonesboro, and Rebecca McKown, Fayetteville; 10 nieces and nephews; and special niece, Katie McKown. Roy Hugh Thomas
Roy Hugh Thomas, Fayetteville, died Sept. 13, 2009. He was born Aug. 3, 1916 in Coweta County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett M. and Alice Youngblood Thomas, and his wife, Janie Mae Thomas. He was retired from Andy Lewis Chevrolet in Fairburn. He was a longtime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church where he enjoyed being part of the Dependables Sunday School class. He was a charter member of the Fayetteville Masonic Lodge #711, F&AM, and was a Mason for 60 years. Services will be today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Cross and the Rev. Dr. William Priester officiating. Interment is at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene T. Hooper, Peachtree City; granddaughters, Janis C. Hooper, Peachtree City, and Donna H. and Steve Moyer, Suwanee; a great-grandson, Jackson T. John Odell Wallace Sr.
John Odell Wallace Sr., 90, Fayetteville, died Sept. 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances Ola Katherine Brown Wallace. He was a veteran of World War II, a Delta retiree, and an accomplished craftsman. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church since 1955. Services are today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 11a.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Survivors include sons, John O. Wallace Jr., and Patrick Wallace; daughters, Joan Wallace, Beth Heath, Peggy Wallace, Melody Mindler, and Robin Milam; 15 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. Carl J. Charles Andrew Moesch
Charles Andrew Moesch, 77, Fayetteville, died Sept. 14, 2009. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and longtime member of Lisbon Baptist Church. He loved to fish and read. Services are today, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Dr. Randall Harris and Brother Bill Horton officiating. Interment is at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joyce Banks Moesch; daughters, Sherry and Truman Simons,, Ginger and Doug Jarrett, and Kathy and Tommy Dempsey, all of Fayetteville, Susan Johannesmann, Plantation, Fla., Vickie and Mike Stanford, Summerdale, Ala., and Loretta and Joey Childress, Fairhope, Ala.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, W.
