First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City is celebrating its 40th anniversary Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25, 26, and 27. The church’s planning team has put together a full weekend of activities for all ages. Kicking off the weekend on Friday night is the reservation-only dinner at 6:30 p.m. This event is for adults only, as childcare will not be provided. After dinner, at 7:30 pm, everyone is invited to the open-seating Fireside Chat with special guest speakers, including Pastor Emeritus Don Smith. On Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., the First Pres Dragon Boat team will compete in the Rotary Club’s annual Dragon Boat Races on Lake Peachtree. After the races, at about 5 p.m., on the church grounds, there will be a catered Homecoming Dinner with hamburgers, hot dogs, cobbler and more. From 6:30-9 p.m., there will be a live performance by church member Bill Mathew’s band, “BigDawg.” This will be the band’s first show back after a nearly two-year hiatus from their 13-year career as a band. The church is on Willowbend Road off Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City. login to post comments |
