To celebrate Peachtree City’s 50th anniversary, the public is invited to a birthday celebration at City Hall plaza Friday, Sept. 25.

The festivities are slated to begin as runners cross the finish line for the annual “Run from Domestic Violence” that benefits Promise Place, a non-profit that helps victims of domestic violence.

In addition to music and cake, there will be inflatables for children and sparklers to help commemorate the event.

Parking is limited and those attending are recommended to come on their golf cart or bike if they can’t walk. Those who must drive are recommended to park in limited spots at First Baptist Church on Willowbend Road.

The fun will continue the following morning as the Peachtree City Rotary Club throws its third annual Dragon Boat Races and International Festival at Drake Field. Rotary is hosting Friday a VIP reception at Drake Field also.

Because of the limited parking and the number of events, City Hall and the Library will close at noon Friday, Sept. 25. The Library will also remain closed Saturday as well.
