While it is true that a name carries significance, it is content that matters most. At least with websites. In that regard, Senoia Downtown Development Authority voted Tuesday to move ahead with plans to get its much needed website up and running.

Speaking on the issue, DDA Chairman Suzanne Helfman reviewed that status of the project that has been in the works for a year. During that time DDA had several volunteers and coordinators work on the website project but those efforts had not produced the desired results, she said.

The discussion led to a unanimous vote to hire Peachtree City website designer Betsy Popinga to undertake the project. The cost will not exceed $1,500.

“I’d rather pay a little bit of money and make sure it’s done right,” said board member Paul Lombardi. “We need consistency to be able to get things up to date.”

Another facet of the website discussion centered on the domain name. DDA currently owns two names, “Explore Senoia” and “Enjoy Senoia.” After some discussion the board voted to use “Enjoy Senoia” as the website domain for the bulk of its content and to link information to “Explore Senoia.”
