New Neighbors League gives gifts to the Troops Bethanie Smithley of  Peachtree City NNL with two of the departing Troops.

The New Neighbors League Club of Peachtree City recently distributed gift bags to Troops heading back to the warzone after an R & R break.

Co-ordinated by First President, Shirley Jensen, the 350 gift bags were put together at the July monthly meeting of the NNL, where members donated items for the Troops using the website www.give2thetroops.org. A group of ten NNL representatives went to the airport on August 11th to distribute the bags while the Troops were waiting to board their flight, and also to give them each a personal send off as they filed onto the airplane. The Troops, both male and female, represented several Squadrons from all over the US.  The NNL was able to arrange the evening with the Troops through Peachtree City based World Airways and their military liaisons. World Airways operates daily flights for the military including these flights from Atlanta to Kuwait City.

NNLC's purpose is to bring newcomers to the area together so that they may meet and become friends, while adjusting to new surroundings.  It is a not-for-profit social organization that has a wide variety of special interest groups.  If you live in the Fayette/Coweta county area and would like more information about NNLC, please contact Club Director, Carol Jensen-Linton at 770-486-9116.
