Bible study at Providence resumes
Community Bible Study, an interdenominational Bible study program, will resume classes beginning Friday, Sept. 11. All classes will meet from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, 592 Bernhard Rd. in Fayetteville. This year’s study will be the book of Acts. Mass scheduled for 9/11 observance
A special Mass in observance of 9/11 will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11. An invitation is extended to the community to join in this commemorative event. The Mass will be celebrated by Father Daniel J. Fleming, pastor of St. Mary Magdalene. Line Creek to host the Singing Echoes
Line Creek Baptist Church in Coweta County will host the Singing Echoes, which includes members of the Epperson family from Cleveland, Tenn., Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. The group has recorded more than 30 songs and has appeared on the Gospel Singing Jubilee TV program. Women’s Prayer Breakfast planned
Mt. Olive Baptist Church will host a Women’s Prayer Breakfast Saturday, Sept. 12 at 9 a.m. The speaker will be Mrs. Allison Henderson Brooks of Fayette County. Tickets are $7 each and can be purchased by contacting the church, 770-892-7508, from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. daily.

Youth ‘hype’ night planned at CDM

Brooks UMC starts new service
Brooks UMC will offer a contemporary service each Sunday beginning Sept. 13 at 9:37 a.m. The church also is beginning a new children’s program called KidStreet which will run during both services (9:37 and 11 a.m). Children may be dropped off at 9:15 a.m. for KidStreet for the first service and those attending the second service will begin in the sanctuary with their parents. They will be led to Kidstreet after the service begins. Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. Highway 85 Connector and Morgan Mill Road in Brooks, just 3 miles south of Starr’s Mill. Hopewell will host CCC Rider band
Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites all middle and senior high youth to participate in the “Bring a Friend Celebration” set for Sunday, Sept. 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. featuring a free concert by a local group, “CCC Rider Praise and Worship Band.” Elementary aged children are also invited to attend and participate in worship opportunities and a “Slime Fest.” The church is at 351 Jenkins Rd., across from Sandy Creek High School. Summit plans ‘Back to Church Sunday’
The Summit will join thousands of churches this month for “Back to Church Sunday,” a national movement of churches to encourage formerly churched people to rethink church and try it again. COS to offer children’s Spanish
Third through fifth graders are invited to learn Spanish culture through language, arts and crafts, food and music at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City.
