Health Care DebateI wonder how many people chiming in on the debate have had any recent contact w/ aparatus. 2) My 55+ self was about $500 +. My side to this would be that when I increase my ded. to save some money... savings were wiped out 10 days later when I went into another birthday. Now we have employer group ins. Small little event.. not an accident, results in a 3 day hospital stay. Enjoining specialist care and after care and future care. So far the bill is approaching $20,000. I could argue about how some of this bill is inflated. How some of it is defensive medicine. (Tort reform?) Bottom Line: If this 20 y/o did not have ins. (even $5K ded)... Who do you think would be paying this bill? Something needs to be done. Something needs to be done to bring the uninsured / the uninsurable into the system. We are all paying for them anyway... Uncontrollaballly. I once knew a 20-something that could not get ins. because he was on high blood press. meds. What, we want him to go un-dia./ un-treated? He can't be covered because of a PREexisting condition? He asked for this problem? It was being treated & taken care of? Better to have him off his meds AND UNINSURED? At its worst, At its worst, Universal Health Care would be better than what we labor under now. I don't see wealthy Canadians or Brits in my doc's waiting room. It is a myth that we have the best health care system in the world. I think that ranking belongs to the French. windowpane's blog | login to post comments |
