William James "Bill" Ward, 77, Newnan, died Aug. 29. 2009. He was born Oct. 20, 1931 in Graceville, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pallie Ball Ward, and is wife, Jeanne Marie Plantier Ward. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, Newnan. He was a retired sheet metal mechanic with Eastern Airlines. Services were at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Melvin Payne and the Rev. Mike Barnes officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.

Survivors include sons, Billy and Teresa Ward, Franklin, and Scott and Renee Ward, Moreland; sisters, Clyde Batista, Winter Park, Fla., and Evelyn Reardon, Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Mark and Michelle Ward, Tonya and Ricky McDonald, Kyle Ward, Sidney Ward, and Joshua Ward; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Ward, Logan Ward, Hannah McDonald, and Alexis McDonald. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
