By: The Citizen
The James Waldrop Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution invites the public to join in the Bells Across America Celebration on September 17 at noon as the country celebrates the 222nd anniversary of the signing of the US Constitution. Constitution Week Chairman Ann Eldredge said, "The Constitution, our Constitution, provides the cornerstone for our government and is the oldest one of its kind still in use today. We, as Americans, should read the Constitution again and again as it is the contract we the people hold with our elected officials. The wisdom of the 55 delegates who worked together to pen this document still amazes me." The Marquis de Lafayette Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will provide a musket salute in honor of this historical event. The bell ringing will be held on the Fayetteville Square next to the flagpole at the Old County Courthouse. The James Waldrop Chapter DAR is chartered in Fayetteville, GA. login to post comments |
