Alpha classes start next week

This month, All Saints Anglican, Peachtree City United Methodist (PTCUMC), and Providence United Methodist churches will all start the free Alpha course which is designed to answer basic questions about Christianity.

The first Alpha class will be conducted Thursdays, Sept. 10 through Nov. 19, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. by All Saints at PTCUMC, 400 Windgate Road. To register call 770-486-5374 or go online to

Classes also begin Sept. 13 at PTCUMC, 225 Robinson Road and are scheduled for Sundays Sept. 13 -Nov. 22 from 4 - 6 p.m. To register call 770-487-6499 or go online to

Other sessions begin at Providence Methodist, 592 Bernhard Road Sept. 13 and 16 through Nov. 22. They will be conducted by Providence and are scheduled for Sundays from 8:30 - 10 a.m. and Wednesdays from 9:30- 11:30 a.m. The Wednesday session is for ladies only and will end Nov. 18. During the sessions, participants will survey the fundamental tenets of Christianity and have the opportunity to ask questions.

Alpha is a non-denominational program that began in the late 1970s to present the basic principles of the faith to new Christians in a relaxed and informal setting. Now, thousands of courses take place each year in 163 different countries.
