Bonnie N. Garrison, 59, Newnan, died Aug. 28, 2009. She was born Dec. 25, 1949 in Newnan, to the late J. B. and Virginia Newman. She was graduated from Newnan High School, Reinhardt College and the University of West Georgia. In 1972 she began working at the Department of Family and Children's Services where she continued for 21 years. In 1993 she became the executive director of Communities in Schools for Coweta, and worked as a patient representative for Piedmont Newnan Hospital for over 10 years. She was a founding member of St. George Catholic Church.

A funeral Mass was at St. George Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Jesus D. Trujillo officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include her husband, Charles Garrison, Newnan; children, Matt Garrison, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Drew Garrison, Newnan; brothers, Case Newman, Los Angeles, Charlie and Nan Newman, Moreland, Tom and LaDonna Newman, Castleberry, Ala., and Doug and Carmen Newman, Williamson; brothers-in-law, Bruce Garrison, Newnan, and Guy Garrison, Peachtree City; and four nieces and nephews. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
