Theriol T. W. "Catfish" Padgett, 91, Fayetteville, died Aug. 29, 2009. He was born Oct. 17, 1917, son of the late Benjamin Selton and Nora Lee Mitchell Padgett. He had served on the Fayette County Board of Commissioners from 1968 to 1972. He was the owner of Padgett's Lake and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Lisbon Baptist Church, the Davidson Masonic Lodge #334, the Yaraab Shrine Temple, Fayette Shrine Club, the Fayetteville Royal Arch Chapter #73, and Fayetteville Council #66, the Griffin Commandery #35, and the Cedars and Pines Golf Club.

Services were at the Lisbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Paul K. Carrier and the Rev. Dr. Larry W. Stegall officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include his daughter, Judy P. and Richard Carter, Fayetteville; a granddaughter, Kelly V. Wilson, Fayetteville; and a great-grandson, Tyler Wilson, Fayetteville. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
