Feds: Golf pro drove to N. Georgia to meet with young child

A Peachtree City man was arrested Sunday in north Georgia after traveling there to meet with a person he thought was a minor child, federal officials said.

Barry Loman, 45, was arrested by federal agents on child exploitation charges, according to information released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Loman is the head golf professional at Lake Spivey Golf Club in Jonesboro and is currently being held at the Catoosa County Jail, officials said.

The arrest was made by the Northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force which includes the FBI and officers from the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office, Dalton Police Department, Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Rossville Police Department, and the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office.
