He had the look of any bank customer, come to make a transaction Saturday while running errands.

But the young bald black man had malice hidden behind his sunglasses when he pushed a note at the teller inside the Bank of America on Ga. Highway 314 North in Fayetteville. That note led to his robbing an undisclosed amount of money from the bank, police said.

The perpetrator, who never showed a weapon, then walked away from the bank along New Hope Road briefly before disappearing into the woods, police said.

K-9 units and the sheriff’s department’s helicopter were deployed in the search of nearby neighborhoods immediately after the incident. The robber was never found, but his sunglass-clad likeness was captured in a photograph that could help police crack the case.

Police are not releasing the contents of the note.

The robber was dressed in black pants with a white dress shirt when he entered the bank and got in line to see a teller, police said.

The bank is located one intersection away from the large Pavilion shopping center.
