By: The Citizen
Barbara was raised in Pennsylvania, and as a youngster received formal art training from Pennsylvania Impressionist, Dr. Walter E. Baum. Subsequently, her work was displayed in her elementary and junior high schools. As an adult, she earned a B.S. Degree from Cedar Crest College and a Master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. After devoting 32 years to the field of education, Barbara retired in 1996. It was then that she began to pursue art as a serious endeavor. Barbara’s work has been displayed at the Georgia State Capital, Georgia State Fair, Clayton Arts Gallery and at the Fayette County Courthouse Art Show. One of her paintings was included in a traveling exhibition throughout the state of Georgia. She has won many ribbons and purchase awards, and her work hangs in many private homes. Barbara paints with pastels, oils and watercolors. She feels that different subject matter lends itself to one media over another, and she tackles all subject matter. However, people and animals are her favorites. login to post comments |
