Herschel E. Gibbs, 77, Fannin Co., died Aug. 5, 2009. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Tye Sorrow officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Gibbs, Suches, Ga.; sons, Gene and LaVanda Gibbs, Fayetteville, Michael and Lori Gibbs, Oregon, and Cody Gibbs, California; stepchildren, John and Michelle Shellnutt, Virginia Beach, Va., and Jancey Wilson, Thomaston, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wilma Sorrow, Covington, and Winnie Bowers, Conyers. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
