Margaret Claudine Stanley Davis, 79, lifelong Fayette countian, died Aug. 9, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Claud and Decie Jane Nipper Stanley, and her husband, William Clifton Davis. She was the owner and operator of the Cozy Pines Beauty Shop located in the basement of her home. She often began at 6 a.m. and worked late into the night to accommodate someone. She shared the fruits of her garden with her customers. She regularly visited shut-ins at their home and at Christian City, giving them the pleasure that only a shampoo and set could bring. She also responded to calls from the mortuary with love and respect tending to the needs there. She had delivered "Meals on Wheels" within the community for almost 20 years. She was chosen as the Woman of the Year in 1982 by the Fayette County Business and Professional Woman's Club. She and her late husband were founding members of the Peachtree City Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and in any other capacity needed. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Minister Joe Johnson officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Survivors include a daughter, Linda and Ray Long, Fayetteville; a grandson, Vic and Jan Long, Sharpsburg; a granddaughter, Kristi Long and Sean Wheatley, Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Austin Long, Madison Wheatley, Savana Wheatley, and Reece Long. Memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge. login to post comments |
