Being named Georgia’s Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders (GAEL) has its perks: statewide recognition, a beautiful trophy and a brand new interactive SMART Board. Multi Media Services presented Superintendent John DeCotis with a new SMART Board in recognition of him being named the state’s top educator for 2009 at the GAEL conference last month. The interactive board allows students to manipulate information on-screen with the touch of a finger, SMART pen or extension stick. It features colorful and captivating images, and the sensory system engages different learning styles: visual, auditory and kinesthetic. A permanent home for the SMART Board has yet to be determined but DeCotis says it will be placed where students can utilize it. Presenting the SMART Board to Superintendent DeCotis (second from right) is (L-R) Keith Taylor, executive vice-president, SMART Classroom Group, Multi Media Services; Jodi Carroll, area manager for SMART Technologies Corp.; and Tom Kazmierski, senior account executive, SMART Classroom Group, Multi Media Services. login to post comments |
