Bob and Kathy Sawyer of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Renee Sawyer, to Kenneth Tracy Hamner, son of Bill and Mimi Hamner of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Armstrong of Fayetteville and Mrs. Billie Sawyer of Griffin, and the late Tom Sawyer. She is a graduate of The University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration. She currently is employed by Emory University in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Hamner Stewart of Peachtree City and the late Charles Hamner, and the late Robert Tracy and the late Mrs. Polly O’Brien. He is a graduate of Furman University where he earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and history. He currently is employed by 360i in Atlanta.

A fall wedding is planned for October 2009 in Atlanta. Following a honeymoon to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
