Busy week as kids go back to schoolMon, 08/10/2009 - 9:10am

The bell has rung and thousands of local children are back in class, wishing they could be outside having fun. There is plenty of fun to be had after school hours though, for children and adults alike. Southside Theatre Guild will hold auditions for “The Music Man” tonight and tomorrow, Aug. 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. Performance dates are October 1-17. ABWA will have their monthly dinner/meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Baci’s in Fayetteville, Call Elizabeth Dresden for reservations at 770-241-2167 The Young Professionals of Fayette County will meet Tuesday at Irish Bred Pub in Peachtree City at 5:30 p.m. All people between the ages of 21 and 39 who either live or work in Fayette County are welcome to attend. There will be a free pre-dance Western Two Step lesson by Wayne Foote at 7 p.m. for anyone who wants to come. The dance is from 8- 10:30 p.m. Visitor couples are welcome to the dance - $20 per couple. Dress: casual or Western. Come enjoy slow dancing, swing, shag, foxtrot, waltz, cha-cha, rumba, tango, samba, salsa, polka, electric slide, and Western Two Step! On Saturday, Ladies on Spokes, a local women’s cycling club is celebrating it’s first anniversary with a bike ride on Saturday. Meet in the Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church parking lot at 8 a.m. for a ride to Lake Horton. A light breakfast will be served in the park.
