Airport, Director of Planning Speaks to Rotarians

Michael Cheyne, Director of Planning for Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, speaks to members of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City at a recent luncheon.  Mr. Cheyne, brings 30 years of experience in aviation and public administration to the world's busiest airport.  He currently oversees key planning components for several major projects in the Airport's $6 billion - plus capital improvement program, including a new rental car center and an international terminal.  Before joining the Hartsfield-Jackson team, Cheyne's prior positions include: executive director for the Ports of Friday Harbor and Edmonds, director of the Itasca Park District, and 18 years with Sea-Tac International Airport in Seattle, Washington.  While at Sea-Tac, he was responsible for over a billion dollars in capital projects, served as director of the Port of Seattle's International Consulting Services, and director of Aviation Planning.  Cheyne is actively involved in the aviation industry on a national level and is currently a board member of the International Association of Airport Executives, chair of the American Association of Airport Executives Operations, Safety and Planning Committee, and is an Accredited Airport Executive and a certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute.
