Mozell Florence Stokes, Newnan, died July 30, 2009. She was born July 23, 1938 in Meriwether County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Stokes, parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Jimmy Florence, a brother, Willard Florence, and a sister, Ophelia Jordan. Services were at Walker Temple C. M. E. Church in Greenville.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey and Diane Stokes, Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Vanessa Stokes, Newnan; brothers, Wallace and Mary Florence, and George W. Florence, all of Newnan; sisters, Mable Godfrey, and Eleanor Colton, both of Luthersville, Lillie Buggs and Geraldine Wimberly, both of Newnan; and grandsons, Tyrone Stokes, and Gabriel Nelson. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
