Melissa Coggin Gibson, 84, Fayetteville, died July 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moody B. Gibson, brothers, Jack Coggin, Billy Coggin, Robert Coggin, Russell Coggin, and Burrell Coggin, and a sister, Sara Coggin. She was a great cook, and loved the outdoors, being most comfortable working in her yard in her paint stained jeans and flannel shirt. She was a founding member of North Fayette Baptist Church.

Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jennifer Andone officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include a son, Brian and Lisa Gibson, Fayetteville; daughters, Linda and Drew Hain, Conyers, Teresa and John Burkett, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Heather and Harrison Burkett, Fayetteville, Connor Gibson, Collin Gibson, and Casey Gibson, all of Fayetteville; and a sister, Betty Jackson, Conyers. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
