Patriotism and Obama’s birthplace

The United States Constitution requires that its president be a natural-born citizen and yet, unbelievably, there is no mechanism in place that requires all presidential candidates to produce an original or certified copy of their birth certificates. Perhaps that is because, up to now, it has not been an issue.

Well, today it is an issue. It’s quite possible that we have a president in the White House who was not born in this country. In fact, President Obama refuses to produce his original birth certificate. In fact, he refuses to produce any birth certificate at all.

For what possible reason would a president refuse to produce a birth certificate unless he wasn’t born here and doesn’t qualify to be president of the United States and lead our military as commander in chief?

There have been two incidents recently that I am aware of where U.S. soldiers, one an enlisted man and one an officer, have refused their military orders because they say they can’t be legal orders if they’ve come from a commander in chief who holds that position illegally.

A call to arms: The U.S. Constitution is the law of the land. It is the one document above all that we are required to obey. It defines our rights and it defines our freedoms. Without the Constitution there is no United States of America; it simply doesn’t exist.

The Constitution unequivocally requires that the president of the United States be a natural-born citizen or he/she does not qualify to be president. The Constitution leaves no wiggle room on this point. This is as black and white as it gets.

I believe these two soldiers are patriots of the highest order, for they are doing exactly what they are sworn to do, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Imagine for a moment, if you will, what would happen if all members of the U.S. Armed Forces, all sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, likewise refused their orders until President Obama abides by the same Constitution that he too took a solemn oath to protect and defend.
