Partner’s Pizza in Tyrone is hosting a special fund-raiser event Wednesday night.

The company will donate a portion of its proceeds to HeroBox, a Tyrone organization that delivers customized care packages to U.S. soldiers deployed overseas. In addition to the regular menu, there will also be a magician on hand to entertain patrons.

HeroBox is asking other restaurants to host a similar “Support the Troops” night to help raise money to compile and mail items specially requested by individual soldiers.

Herobox has complied 3,000 individual requests for items from soldiers, and volunteers across the country are helping make them possible, organizers said. Businesses, schools, churches and families have “adopted” soldiers to send thousands of boxes overseas.

An individual HeroBox can be sent for $25 including goods, materials and shipping costs.
