Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the Georgia Poison Center will be conducting a Poison Prevention Instructor Training Program (ITP), on Friday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This highly informative program is ideal for SAFE KIDS coalition members, educators, day care providers, healthcare and public safety professionals and all others interested in learning more about poison prevention.

The ITP provides attendees with a wealth of knowledge on ways to avoid poisoning. In this short time frame, participants will be able to identify common poisons, determine how to properly act in a poison emergency and know how to educate others about poison prevention. The goal of the Poison Prevention Instructor Training Program is to increase the number of Georgians who are knowledgeable of and able to prevent unintentional poisoning.

The training will be held in the Magic Room on the ground floor of Piedmont Newnan Hospital, and the cost is $20. Deadline for registration is Thursday, Aug. 6. For more information on the ITP, please call the Piedmont Newnan Hospital Education Department at 770-304-4088.
