The Children’s Village at Christian City was the recipient of a $925 love offering taken up at the annual Friends and Family Concert performed by Southern Nights Chorale at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City on June 19.

More than 200 music lovers showed up to enjoy show tunes, patriotic songs and music from past and present genres. The evening took on a special meaning when the hat was passed to help the abandoned and abused children who live in the cottages on Christian City’s campus in Union City.

J.D. Holmes, choral director said, “Our group was proud to support this very worthwhile organization this year with our concert. The Children’s Village provides a wonderful service to the community and we wanted to help them as much as possible.”

Christian City has been caring for abandoned and abused children in a family-centered residential setting since 1965. More than 1,000 children have called Christian City “home.”
