Ophelia Mae Conner Beckom, 88, Sharpsburg, died July 4, 2009. She was born Feb. 11, 1921 in Coweta County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Hattie Fordem Conner, her husband, Henry Grady Beckom, sons, Larry Beckom, and Meryle Beckom, and grandchildren, Mike Beckom, and Tammy Boynton. Services were at the McKoon chapel with the Rev. Harry Parkerson and Jodie Mitchell officiating. Interment was at Mt. Bethel Methodist Cemetery. Survivors include children, Henry Beckom, Whitesburg, Rosa Purgason, and Mattie Purgason, both of Hogansville, Harold "Peanut" Beckom, Turin, and sisters, Elsie Smith, Frances Thompson, Christine Milam, and Margaret Mathews. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
