Fayes F. Thomas Jr. , Newnan, died July 4, 2009. He was born June 4, 1930 to the late Fayes F. and Minnie Younis Thomas. He attended Cathedral School, and was graduated from Benedictine Military Academy, Mercer University and the Walter F. George School of Law. He attained the rank of Major in the Judge Advocate General Corps, United States Army. He was a partner in the firm of Kalback and Thomas from 1957 to 1998. He was a leader in the Lebanese American Community of Miami and was named Man of the Year in 1997. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. A funeral mass was at St. George Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Austin Fogarty and the Rev. Father Elie Mikhael officiating.

Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, June Mansour Thomas, Newnan; sons, Michael and Maria Thomas, and Alan Thomas; a grandson, Brandon; a daughter, Gina Thomas, Atlanta; brothers, Joseph and Betty Thomas, Savannah, and David Thomas; brothers-in-law, Ellis and Melinda Mansour, Charles and Michelle Mansour, Newnan, and a sister-in-law, Rochelle and Hershall Norred, Newnan. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 2055 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33145 or St. George Catholic Church, 771 Roscoe Rd., Newnan, GA 30263. McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
