New Neighbors League sets Amnesty DayTue, 07/14/2009 - 3:38pm
By: The Citizen
The Peachtree City Chapter of New Neighbors League Club will hold its annual Amnesty Day on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at the corner of Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway. The day will begin with refreshments at 9:30 a.m. followed by a meeting at 10 a.m. There will also be an opportunity to sample the fun activities the Club offers, as many will be showcased in the "Activity Fair" being held at the same time. Amnesty Day opens up membership in NNLC for individuals who have lived here for more than one year. The fee to join is $45. Ordinarily, new members must be invited to join by one of the Area Representatives within the first year of their move to the Fayette County area. Amnesty allows residents, who have lived here for more than a year and sponsored by a current NNLC member, to join in August. The NNLC's purpose is to bring together newcomers to meet each other and become friends, while adjusting to new surroundings. It is a not-for-profit social organization with a wide variety of special interest groups. If you would like more information, please call Carol Jensen-Linton at 770-486-9116. login to post comments |
