Current GM Larry Turner expected to resign in December

The Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority has announced that two of the three finalists for its top executive position have bowed out.

The lone remaining candidate is Stephen M. Hogan, who is currently a senior project engineer with the Henry County Water and Sewage Authority.

In a news release Monday, current WASA General Manager Larry Turner noted that the WASA board is expected to vote on appointing Hogan as general manager at a future meeting.

Hogan would replace Turner, who is retiring at the end of this year. Turner previously has said he would like his replacement to be on board before the budget process begins so the new hire can see how the process currently works.

The advertised salary range is $80,000 to $140,000, depending on experience.

Before becoming a senior project engineer at Henry County, Hogan served there as a division manager for the water and sewer system’s capital improvement program and operations division. He served in that capacity for almost three years, managing a staff of 69 employees in four departments and managing the day-to-day operations.

Hogan has been with Henry County since October 2004. He also has engineering and project management experience with a number of private firms ranging from Arcadis to Gray Engineering Consultants in Greenville, S.C.
