Ruby Amos, Newnan, died June 16, 2009. She was born May 25, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Limmie Stegall Wood, brothers, Jonnie C. Wood, and Leon Wood. She had worked as a domestic for families in Newnan, and worked for Addy Laundry and Lee Manufacturing before joining Coweta General Hospital where she worked in the cafeteria as a registered dietician and nutritionist.

Services were at the Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Melvin D. Brittian officiating. Interment was at Sunset Cemetery, Newnan. Survivors include her children, Barbara M. and Roy Brantley, Artis C. and Betty McGinty; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Emily and the Rev. J. W. Russell, Mary Ruth Carter, Alonza and Doris Wood, Catherine and Walter Ware, Irene and Otis Bell, and Allene Malcolm; and a sister-in-law, Alma Wood. Roscoe Jenkins
