A Palmetto man was arrested on drug charges July 2 after more than a dozen Crime Suppression Unit officers from Palmetto Police and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office converged on a residence off Carlton Road. Arrested at his home at 525 Seven Bark Court was 25 year-old Ramaro Thornton, according to Palmetto Crime Scene Investigator Joyce Phillips. She said Thornton was charged with three felony counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. An undisclosed amount of drugs were seized, she said. Officers executed the search warrant at approximately 7:45 p.m. after marked and unmarked vehicles poured into the one block-long cul-de-sac near Carlton Road. Officers searched both inside and outside the residence. The search did reveal three handguns that were subsequently confiscated, said Phillips. Phillips said the investigation is ongoing. login to post comments |
