Crystine Peeples celebrates 90th birthday

Chrystine Lyons Peeples was feted by family and friends on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

She was born in Fayette County June 30, 1919, daughter of George Patrick and Bessie Mae Brown. A sister, Karen is deceased and another sister, Jacqueline Lyons Thomason lives at Lake Jackson.

She was baptized at the age of 14 at Lake Bennett, a common occurance at that time, while a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She currently is a member at Inman United Methodist Church, where the party was held.

A graduate of Fayette County High School in 1936, she was graduated from West Georgia College with a teaching degree.

Her 41 years in the field found her teaching at Woolsey, Brooks, and Hood Avenue Elementary schools in Fayette County, and two schools in Spalding County.

On January 6, 1940 she married Fayette County native, Hugh A. "Coot" Peeples, who died in June, 1992.

Her motto for young and old - Live your best, act your best, think your best today, for today is your preparation for tomorrow.
